Clock Rewinders on a Book Binge is a Sunday re-cap post started by Amanda at On A Book Bender and Tara at 25 Hour Books.  It’s a chance to share our love of other blogs.  The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer and it’s a chance to showcase new books and re-cap your week of blogging.

Well, I think I have my blog under control.  I plan on doing a post analyzing in excruciating detail all that went into my move from Blogger to WordPress.  It’ll bore you to tears but because I relied on so many other’s pain in moving from Blogger to WordPress, I thought I’d add my two cents to the blogosphere.

Finally, today is literally the one year anniversary of my blog.  Nope, I’m not celebrating.  I suck at blogging right now, I’m not consistent, I don’t have the content I envisioned I would have and there’s so much more I want to do.  So I decided I would celebrate next year.  Or maybe when I’m where I want to be.  One year is just a number, right?  Besides, there’s so many other much cooler Blogoversaries going on right now to check out.  Blogs that I admire and go to for inspiration.  Just see below…

Around the Blogosphere

  • My best blogger bud, Lisa (aka Silverlight) at Paranormal & Urban Fantasy Reviews just had her blog re-done by Giselle of XpressoDesigns.  Yep, you know Giselle.  And Giselle does beautiful work, both in her designs and typography.  I love it!  Lisa is having an awesome giveaway to celebrate her new look by giving away $30 worth of designs at XpressoDesigns and a book from Elizabeth Richards to a second winner.  Go HERE for the fun.
  • Fiktshun is celebrating her 2 year Blogoversary.  Rachel of Fiktshun is one of those bloggers who puts her heart and soul into her blogs and it really shows.  I admire her tenacity a ton.  And I have to say, after having done her Soul Screamers Reading Challenge earlier this year, she is one of the nicest bloggers out there, bar none!  You really should go check out her posts this week (well, really every week).
  • Felicia at the Geeky Bloggers Book Blog is doing something really super cool this month.  She’s posting everyday what books, authors, or bloggers she’s thankful for.  What an awesome idea!!!

In ‘Da House

Every year I go to Kim Harrison’s book signing in Michigan.  This coming January will be my fourth signing.  I’m such a fan nerd that I bought the tour t-shirt (again – I have the shirt from Black Magic Sanction).  Here’s what I got in the mail:

I was surprised by the pin and the swag that said, “Don’t Panic!” – 3 to go!  I guess that means there’s three more Hollows books after this.

This is my e-book edition of the book haul portion of my post (yeah, it didn’t make sense to me either the first 3 times I tried to re-write that sentence so just go with me on it).  Next week I’ll show all my goodies from the book signing and a very special package I got from a most awesome author.  Hint, I’m reading the book right now…

Bought

Received for review (why do I keep doing this to myself?!?!)

That’s it for me this week, guys…  What books made their new home at your house?

About Kristin

Kristin has to ensure she gets her minimal requirement of "happily ever after" books in between those books that contain cliffhangers and never-ending story arcs. It's for her family's sake. When not reading, she's homeshooling her 10-year old son, watching cartoons on TV, or taking a nap.

  1. Don’t Panic! 3 to go!, that’s fabulous! Whenever I see or hear “don’t panic”, I think of the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy… now THAT’S nerdy!

Also, Vengeance Bound? I don’t know what it is about the cover, but I love it. Can’t wait to read your review!

Oh, no, nothing nerdy about that!! I love Hitchhiker’s, too!! It’s like the original funny Sci Fi 🙂

  2. You didn’t get the book I sent? Freaking post office-sux!
That shirt is super cool and now that we are best buds *hint *hint I’m going to have to hit ya up for some swag from the signing 😀 😀 ha!
I missed Sealed W/ a Curse???? It looks great, and I do have Vengeance but that will have to wait till March 2013.
    Love ya chick!!!

Sealed is still there – RUN!!

And bloody hell, girl! Why do you send me things?!?! I checked the mail early yesterday but I’m going out there again shortly. Again, I say, you are too good to me!! And yes, I will set you up with Swag, if I can get any. Kim Harrison is sooooo hard to score any at!! But I have some from last weekend 😉

  3. Just stopping over from the Sunday Post link-up! We just recently switched over to WP a few months ago, and it was a pain in the rear. Once we got everything settled and in it’s place, we haven’t missed Blogger at all. I’m diggin’ the shirt, buttons and swag you got!

  4. I know quite a number of blogging friends who are considering the switch from Blogger to WordPress and your post will be a helpful experience for them to learn from! 🙂 I heard Catching Jordan is a worthy read, so is Vengeance Bound, enjoy!

  5. Congrats on making the leap and getting your blog transferred over…I don’t think that is a mountain that I will ever be ready to climb. And regarding your content…well…I know how you feel…I have been a horrid blogger lately…well ever since August…the month leading up to my wedding. I really need to get back on track. But I just keep reminding myself…this is a hobby…not a job…so no need to beat myself up. Point is…Just do what you want to do, what you have time for and enjoy…. There is no magic formula or requirements imposed.

Anywho…sorry for the babbling…enjoy your new reads!

  6. Yes there are three book left, and some of us are panicking…LOL Happy Blogoversary!! Sorry you are not where you want to be. The blog looks lovely though 🙂
What a sweet haul and I am curious about Sealed with a Curse. Thanks for sharing on your news on The Sunday Post.

  7. Yay on the move from Blogger! I can imagine what a headache that would’ve been. I’ve been thinking of going to self-hosting, but I’m refraining. Life’s busy enough as it is, so I don’t need another thing to fuss with.

Catching Jordan! Yay! I just read the second one in that series and loved it! I hope you like it, too!

    And happy blogoversary!! How exciting!

  8. I think that adding your experience from moving from Blogger to WP is a good idea. Everyone’s transition is a little different, and the more resources available to people, the better.

Happy bloggy birthday! One year is never something to sneeze at, even if you’re not where you’d like to be. You’re still here. That’s what counts! 🙂
