“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event hosted at Breaking the Spine.

We share those books we can’t wait to get our hands on!

Dead Ever After (Sookie Stackhouse #13)
By Charlaine Harris
Expected Publication May 7th, 2013
Ace / Penguin Group
336 pages
Urban Fantasy

From Goodreads:

There are secrets in the town of Bon Temps, ones that threaten those closest to Sookie—and could destroy her heart….

Sookie Stackhouse finds it easy to turn down the request of former barmaid Arlene when she wants her job back at Merlotte’s. After all, Arlene tried to have Sookie killed. But her relationship with Eric Northman is not so clearcut. He and his vampires are keeping their distance…and a cold silence. And when Sookie learns the reason why, she is devastated.

Then a shocking murder rocks Bon Temps, and Sookie is arrested for the crime.

But the evidence against Sookie is weak, and she makes bail. Investigating the killing, she’ll learn that what passes for truth in Bon Temps is only a convenient lie. What passes for justice is more spilled blood. And what passes for love is never enough…

Why am I waiting?

Oh, the love/hate relationship a lot of us readers have with this series…  But like any crash on the side of the road, I need to lookie-lou and know what’s going on.  So I’m eagerly waiting for closure and Sookie’s happily ever after (HEA).  Felicia at Geeky Bloggers Book Blog got me thinking about this book and after I checked out the cover and synopsis, I’m both confused and completely terrified that I think I know a little of what happens.  Please, don’t let the synopsis be right!!  Sookie needs her HEA, desperately.  Give that woman her sunshine already!!  Pretty please with sugar on top?!

What are you waiting for?

  1. Texas Book Lover

I too have a love-hate relationship with these books but continue to read them (for some unknown reason). I really struggled with the last several books and thought that if they started about 3/4 of the way in instead they would of been fine. Very, very sad! I will read this final book and hope Ms. Harris gives it the justice it deserves.

  2. I’m so nervous for the end! I actually haven’t even read the last book because I’ve heard it sucks and that people think she will end up with Sam. Which is bull since everyone wants her with Eric!!!!!!! Love the new look! Every time I come here it looks different!
