The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer and it’s a chance to showcase new books and re-cap your week of blogging.

I finally started baking my Christmas cookies last night.  I have one batch of Lofthouse-style sugar cookies chillin’ in the fridge overnight to be dealt with severely tomorrow.  I actually baked Peanut Butter Blossoms and Snickerdoodles and managed no egg shells.  My hubs almost ate all the PB blossoms, claiming they taste better warm or something like that.  I’ve got some recipes on my Pinterest page if you’re so inclined to peek.

Fire and Ice 2014

The Fiery Hot Reads for Icy Cold Nights Blog Hop (aka Fire & Ice) is already taking sign-ups!  Head on over to Rainy Day Ramblings to check out the details and to sign up.  There are several ways to participate so don’t be shy!!!

So, who updated their WordPress and what do you think of the new look and little changes??  I’m still getting used to it.  I like the updated look, that’s for sure.  They moved some of the buttons around on me so I’m trying not to hit any major buttons by mistake and publish something un-intentionally.  That’s like one of my greatest fears in blogging – premature publishing

In the book world, I haven’t been getting very many new books because I’m trying to empty out my NetGalley profile and get my Edelweiss account kind of emptied out, too.  And there’s just too many books on my shelves that need to be read, too.  One of my blogging buddies was just commenting that it’s nice to actually just read TBR books and not worry about the review books.  I think that’s a great way to end the year.

Speaking of which, Fiktshun has organized a Best of 2013 week again this year.  It’s coming up fast but there’s still time to sign up.  Check it out HERE!!!  This will be my third year participating and I really enjoy looking back at the past year and analyzing what I’ve read.  My inner geek gets to come out and play!

That’s it for me… what goodies did you get this past week???

  1. I got Ruined too, but will share it next week. I am not baking any cookie until next weekend. I always make peanut butter kisses, butter cookies, snickerdoodles and chocolate chips and my favorite crescent moon butter cookies with pecans. If I baked any sooner my peeps would devour them all before Christmas..LOL

  2. Oh, dear God .. the snickerdoodles (I accidentally typed ‘snickerdiddles’ first – lol). My faaaaavorite. They look so good!

I like to WP update, but don’t notice too much of a difference. LOL – I worry about premature publishing, too.

    Enjoy your books, mah dear.
