Hi everybody!  I am the laziest blogger around!  I totally planned on hitting it last week with my Top 10 of 2013 lists but my folks were in town and it just didn’t happen like I planned.  Cleaning for company and last minute shopping took over.  Yep, that’s life!

We had an awesome, snowy Christmas and everyone got what they wanted.  My son got a plethora of Skylander figures and too many Lego sets to count.  Tell me this isn’t a perfect book blogger’s present: a Starbucks card and an Amazon gift card!  Yep, I got each and some Pandora and Ray Bans.  I’m too freakin’ blessed for my own good…

What’s the best present you got????

Did you have snow if you live in an area that gets snow?

(no, Christy, you’re not allowed to gloat)

Yes, I realize I’ve gone and grabbed a ton of romance, of the new adult variety…. I just can’t help it.  BUT!!!  I’m so freaking excited to get started on The Emperor’s Blades – it has gotten such high reviews and it looks to be the type of high fantasy that I used to love to read waaaaay back, about 10 years ago, when I was reading G.R.R. Martin before it was cool and Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series.  And the cover is so beautiful!

What great books did you get this holiday season or just this past week???

We got one of those Blu-ray players, too!!! A Sony – LOVE!! We don’t have the hulu or Netflix yet (son wants Netflix) but since we have Kindle Prime we use that for rentals and free shows!!! I can barely keep up with all the technology in our house!!! I need a degree for all the stuff!!! I accidentally gave our house two internet access points when I installed our last cable modem – yeah, try and top that mistake! :S

I LOVE your new reading area/NOOK!!! Get it? Nook! Ha!! I’m not funny…

  2. It sounds like you had a fun Christmas! We had no snow, but at least it was colder than earlier in the week so it felt a little more like Christmas. We don’t get much snow in southern Maryland and I miss it.

I got so many wonderful gifts (jewelry which I love!), books, Amazon and Starbucks gift cards, electronic gadgets.

The Emperor’s Blades looks so good.

  3. I got lots of Starbucks and Amazon gift cards plus some for Dunkin Donuts. I’m a happy girl. 🙂

The Emperor’s Blades looks interesting, enjoy!

OH MAN!! Dunkin Donuts?!?!? Ours closed down b/c here on the border with Canada, everybody freaks over Tim Hortons – BLECH!!!! Horrible donuts!!!! Give me a strawberry frosted anyday!!!

      Lucky girl, indeed!! 😀

  4. Sounds like you had a lovely Christmas. You can never have enough Amazon or Starbucks gift cards. No snow here….ever…well, I think we had it twice but never at Christmas. My hubby bought me a drawing tablet for me to use in Photoshop and Illustrator and I LOVE it! Happy New Year and watch out for those legos they are so painful when stepped on…ugh…I still remember stepping on many of those.

Those drawing tablets blow my mind! I have a friend who does all her work in those and I still can’t figure out how she gets the quality of lines she does! But then she says she spends a fortune on brushes so there you go… tee, hee!!! I’ll live vicariously through you guys!! I wish I could draw!!

Thank you sooooo much for stopping by!!!

  5. LOVE starbucks and amazon. Those are great gifts. My family bought me a couple books (I gave them a huge list to pick from lol) Love the covers of The Emperors Blade. I read most of the Wheel of Time series and I haven’t read one like it in a long time. Looking forward to see what you thougt,
We didn’t get any snow 🙁 but we might at the end of this week (better late then never I guess lol)

I am also putting legos together and taking dolls from packages that you need a degree to figure out how to get out.

I hope you have a fantastic New Year
