The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer and it’s a chance to showcase new books and re-cap your week of blogging.

I finally broke down and spent my $25 Amazon gift card because there were just too many great Kindle deals I couldn’t pass up.  We also had a couple of fantastic boxes of ARCs come in to the library from our distributor, Baker and Taylor.  So while it looks like I went bonkers this week, it’s only because this all happened in the same week.

The box of YA books we wasted a good hour of the county's time going through :D

I was talking to my blogging friend Christy this weekend about review books.  Is it just me or are there just not that many out there right now?  Maybe I’m just getting too picky…

I’ve given up on going to ALA this year (mostly) and I’m now looking at BEA.  But holy cow!!! Yeah the airfare is cheap from DTW but did you see those hotel room prices?!?!?!  YIKES!  I might have to start being nice and see if someone will let me pay to sleep in a sleeping bag on the floor of their room!!!!

  • Winter 2014 Mini Bloggiesta sign-ups are open HERE.  Bloggiesta is going down next weekend, January 25th & 26th.
  • Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer has posted the details and signup for her Ides of March Read-a-thon that is happening March 13th – 17th.  It’s an awesome way to help you tackle that TBR pile you know you need to (if only to make your significant other happy).  Signup details are HERE.
  • There’s a brand new feature to Book Blogging.net – it’s a Book Trading System.  I haven’t played around in it yet but ever since Goodreads dumped theirs, I’ve been sorely missing a way to unload my books and get something for them.  Now, if I could only find a way to unload my hub’s books!!!  I know, I know, I should donate them to my library…

These were books that I’ve wanted for a while and just couldn’t bring myself to spend big bucks for an ebook.  Turns out I already owned the physical copy of Up To Me so I might put that one up on the Book Trading system 😀

  1. Thanks for the shout-out hon, and ooh pull the Red Rising out and read it…awesome stuff. I think my review on it posts this week or maybe next..idk I am reading and writing reviews for the third week of February now so I get confused..I need more coffee and a lot more time. As for arc’s I have not been looking as they seem to find me. I saw the new feature on BB. I have received copies of books that are YA contemp that I would love to give to readers who would review them, but the shipping is crazy. I send a book to a CA blogger and it cost me 14.00 dollars..yikes!

  2. Have you thought about doing Arcyling as well. They are mostly older review books, but hoping to see you at BEA as well. Think about getting a hotel room in the village, not Midtown as the hotels are a bit cheaper, North of 14th street the hotels are pricey. So think about that. Also people are always looking for roommates, try going on the goodreads board for BEA, it might have people who need roommates. You got some amazing books.

  3. BEA is on my list, but not until my kids are way older. I have given up on donating books other than to my library because it is so freaking expensive to ship them. I shipped out 8 books the other day and spent 17 bucks.
IDK about lack of review books, there are always plenty out there, but good good books, is the key. I am starting to read older stuff. I see you are finally getting back to Darynda Jones!
