The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer and it’s a chance to showcase new books and re-cap your week of blogging.

Woot, woot!  Two weeks off from work for me!

I hope to get a crap-ton of work done on the blog and perhaps get my act together when it comes to visiting other blogs.  I really appreciate all my new visitors and I feel like such a lout that I’m not returning the blog love and checking out everyone’s blogs and their posts immediately, if not in the same week.

What’s on the plan?  First, lots of review writing, as I’m about ten reviews behind.  Second, I’ll be reading books from my TBR pile for the 2014 Take Control of Your TBR Pile Reading Challenge hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.  This challenge lasts the entire month of March (yay!).  You know you want to join us *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*

Thirdly, I’m going to figure out SEO and get up and running again on my blog.  I had it turned on when I first moved from Blogger to WordPress but then turned it off when I had no clue what I was doing.  I just signed up for Google Authorship (thank you, Jackie at Literary Escapism!!) and I need to definitely get my SEO groove on, too.

  • I caught a really cool feature post by Tanya over at Parajunkee. It’s called Book Bloggerista News and I guess she does these weekly. There’s just a ton of information and news from around the blogosphere that I like getting caught up with it. Check out last week’s post HERE.
  • Finally, I wanted to share an article that recently came out that compared award winning books versus the reviews those books got in Goodreads. Turns out the Goodreads reviews turn south after the award. I think it’s law of averages. Check out the article HERE. What do you think??

What came home with you this week??  Any good news your way?

  1. Ha – I have 10 reviews that I need to write, too. I need to go on a review writing spree. And I don’t even know what SEO is or does. *shrugs* You did get some good lookin’ books. 😉

  2. Two weeks off sounds amazing. I’m getting two days off soon–next Friday and then the Monday after that. And I’m stoked about those. Definitely participating in the TBR Pile Challenge Kimba’s hosting. I love the excuse to read my non-ARCs. 🙂 Oh and I see your reading Take a Chance. I need to get my hands on that. Love me some Grant. Have a great week!

  3. On so I thought being 4 reviews behind was bad lol I also am trying to get to all my favorite bloggers, I had a plan on monday then I got sick and ruined my flow 🙂 I figured I could visit at least 3 or 4 a day.

    Great book haul!

    Enjoy your two weeks off!!

  4. I find the only way I make it around to other blogs is if I schedule it into my day. There’s so much to keep up with, I try to hit my regulars and sneak in one or two new blogs (but inevitably find links on them to new blogs and… that is the time-suck that is the internet!)

I grabbed Down on her Knees and Drive me Crazy too – that sale from Entangled was too tempting by far!

  5. This week was the first week on my blog since setting up in January that I didn’t have enough time… guess it’s gotta happen at some stage. Initially tried to write review before I start a new book, but that has been overtaken 🙂 Will check out the feature on Parajunkee, sounds good.
Have a great week and Happy Reading!

  6. I have no idea what SEO is, but I haven’t had to deal with it since I’m on a free WordPress site. (Or at least I think so anyway). I think the award vs GR rating has a lot to do with how people perceive award winning books. They pick them up assuming they are going to be great, life changing, or completely different but find out they are just like other books in most cases. I hope you enjoy your new reads and have a lovely week!
