The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer and it’s a chance to showcase new books and re-cap your week of blogging.

Have you seen How to Train Your Dragon 2?  We saw it when it first came out and I loved it!!!  The animation was incredible, the story was pretty darn good for the sophomore effort, and then there was Toothless…

I will be collecting these little creatures, to my husband’s consternation.

It’s Sunday, are you watching “futbol”???  You better be!  U-S-A!  U-S-A!

  • Apparently Stephen Colbert is taking on Amazon and single handedly raising pre-order sales for Hatchette authors.   Check out this article and video from the Colbert Report (courtesy of one of my favorite emails/newsletters, EarlyWord).  I’m not usually a fan of Colbert’s but this IS super great!!
  • How would you like to read reviews of your writing in front of a camera?  And then how about we post that video to the internet?  That is exactly what Wendy and Kate at The Midnight Garden did.  They asked YA authors to read snarky reviews of their own books.  Yee-ouch and FUNNY!  My favorite is Leigh Bardugo; she’s so freakin’ cute!

About Kristin

Kristin has to ensure she gets her minimal requirement of "happily ever after" books in between those books that contain cliffhangers and never-ending story arcs. It's for her family's sake. When not reading, she's homeshooling her 10-year old son, watching cartoons on TV, or taking a nap.

  1. Ha, it sounds like Wendy and Kate did a spin off of Jimmy Kimmel’s mean tweets. I have to check that out.

It takes me a lot longer to watch movies like HtTyD since my son is older and doesn’t care to watch them.

I don’t think I’m familiar with any of those books.

They totally were inspired by Jimmy!! It is so cute 🙂

I hear you on movies and kids – I haven’t seen an adult movie in ages 🙁 Thank God for DVDs – I’m thinking a Christmas release 🙂

You know the book Trial by Fire, I already have the NG version but I didn’t know it until I got home. You do still read YA and about witches, right? 😀

      Emoticons are me today… sorry…

Wendy at Midnight Garden has been a “friend” of mine on Goodreads and you should follow their blog – she’s an awesome, very long time blogger 🙂

  2. I’m not going to lie we are not watching soccor. I just can’t get into it but I am cheering on USA and Italy just not doing it in from of the TV.

Trail by Frie looks so good, I have that one on Netgalley.

Hope you enjoy all your new reads!

    Have a great week Kristin!!!!

Ya know, I got home and realized I had Trial by Fire already!!! I was all excited to nab it for some reason and now I know why. The ARC had a blank cover and that’s what threw me! Ya think I should start reading it, huh? 🙂

  3. Lucky! Trial by Fire looks fantastic. And you are right–that Colbert video is hilarious. Might be my favorite of his to date. I also thought The Midnight Garden’s video of was great. Sadly, I have not seen How to Train Your Dragon 2 yet, but it’s only a matter of time, and I will probably be consternating (<—–not a real word, but you know what I mean) my husband by collecting those guys too 😉

I want to see How to Train Your Dragon but my kids don’t really want to see it. I was like, whaaat? Silly kids… sigh.
