Sunday Post #46: I Couldn’t Resist

The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer and it’s a chance to showcase new books and re-cap your week of blogging.

I have no clue what’s going on in the blogging world right now.  About all I can tell you is that the Detroit Tigers squeaked into the playoffs this year – miracles of miracles.  Otherwise, I’ve been busy with my son’s online school, which I’m loving more and more everyday.

I was out sick this week with a migraine that came out of nowhere and I actually still have it!  Now, don’t ever feel sorry for me (well, okay, maybe a little because when I’m home my family forgets that I’m actually sick – grrrrrr).  I have great meds: Imitrex, Topomax, muscle relaxers, and something for nausea.  But then I walk around in a drug induced stupor, my fingers and toes are cold and numb, and I feel like fire is shooting out the top of my head.  I think I’ll start answering only to the name “Heat Miser”.  It has potential.

A great big huge THANK YOU to Macmillan, HarperCollins, and Random House.

… and thank you to Baker & Taylor for sending our library a copy of Talon.  Of course I was all over that 😉

About Kristin

Kristin has to ensure she gets her minimal requirement of “happily ever after” books in between those books that contain cliffhangers and never-ending story arcs. It’s for her family’s sake. When not reading, she’s homeshooling her 10-year old son, watching cartoons on TV, or taking a nap.

  1. I was getting ready to tell you how bad I felt for you blah blah blah, but then I saw you HAVE SEVENTH GRAVE!!! I no longer have sympathy for you. Kidding. You know I heart you. I’m just a jealous bitch. 😉

I’m actually LMFAO b/c that actually ran through my mind when I wrote this post!!! I distinctly thought of you and Kim, too!!! It was a total fluke b/c I had been watching for the ARC and it just showed up THIS past week!! And I only get Macmillan ARCs through library channels. They have THE best library newsletter – the girls are flippin’ adorable!!!!!

btw – FIRST effin’ morning I’ve woken up with NO pain!!! It’s a damn miracle – my mouth has no filter today 😀

  2. Sorry about your migraines. My brother gets them pretty bad too. Looks like you got some awesome books. I haven’t read that Jay Crownover series yet, but I LOVE her Marked Men series. Suspicion has been all over the blogging world lately. I still haven’t read The Winner’s Curse even though I really want to. And then even though I’m not a huge Julie Kagawa fan, the cover of Talon keeps calling to me. Hope you have a great week!

I actually didn’t read Kagawa’s Iron whatever series and I disliked the first book in the Immortal Rules series but the other 2 blew me away – weird, huh?! I have to read about DRAGONS! It’s a given 🙂

Trust me, I’ve been waiting and waiting to see if Seventh Grave was going to show up in Edelweiss and it FINALLY did!!! happy dance day!!

Did you guys freakin’ watch that game?!?! We were so stoked to see Joe come through in the end, for both his confidence and the crowd!!!! He’s not my fave player but he needed that!! 😀

    • K

I’m soooooo glad you said that!! I hoped the dragons would be good – she goes either way for me as an author.

Like I said… drugs rock. Sinus headaches are indeed VERY close. It’s very hard to tell the difference except I finally figured it out when I went to a pain clinic and they helped me. I used to think I was having sinus headaches all the time. I actually had surgery to fix a deviated septum, too. It’s been a long road… 😀

  3. So sorry about your migraine! I get them a lot but I’ve started sleeping with Selenite (it’s a stone you can buy at metaphysical stores) under my pillow as well as an amethyst and I haven’t had a migraine or even a headache since. And it’s practically record, it’s been several weeks. I don’t know how open you are to that, but I thought I’d tell you. Selenite isn’t expensive (I paid $7 for a large wand) and amethyst is about $1 for a tumbled stone. You can order them on etsy too if there’s not a metaphysical store near you.
On another note, you got some GREAT books! I have Talon and can’t wait to read it! I hope that you have a better week this week!

I am totally open to anything, seriously! I’ll look it up online and see what Etsy has 🙂 I was going to try essential oils but you know how it is with smells and headaches – I’m not sure I can stomach new intense smells. Thanks for the crystal advice!!

What is UP with the box they sent Talon in?!?! Kind of a waste of packaging, right?!?! They are going crazy with ARCs! I hope it lives up to the package 😉

We are Braves fans here! We followed them a bit closer when Maddox and Chipper were there. We were living in San Diego and Padres fans but we loved the Braves, too. Sorry about your year, we eeked into the playoffs ourselves.

I actually went to a pain clinic for my migraines and they figured out they were chronic and hormonal – blech!!!

    • K

That’s probably why this one was so cheap 😉 It’s a great way to try authors I haven’t read yet, that’s for sure!!!!

If this indian summer ever stops, I’ll feel better 🙂 How crazy is it to wish for cooler temps, right??? Michigan weather is off the wall!!!

    • K

I hope I get to enjoy them, as soon as I get through all the books glutted myself on months ago and now have to get read. Jeez, I do this all the time but the covers and blurbs call to me, I swear!!!!
