About the book:

A powerful billionaire who always gets what he wants.  An innocent protégée who will explore the darkest reaches of her own desire.  Experience their intoxicating tale—now available for the first time as a complete saga…

Anything He Wants  Lucy Delacourt’s temp position isn’t quite her dream job but it pays the bills. The highlight of her day is riding the elevator in the mornings with a handsome stranger. But everything changes when the stranger seduces her. Completely out of character, she yields without a fight, but she has no idea her wanton acts with a man whose name she doesn’t know will change her life forever. Because the sexy stranger is none other than Jeremiah Hamilton, billionaire CEO of Hamilton Industries, and one taste isn’t nearly enough to satisfy his need.

Castaway  As the billionaire pulls Lucy deeper into his world of high stakes business deals and ruthless takeovers, he demands nothing less than her complete surrender. But Jeremiah has no place in his life for love, and as Lucy falls deeper for him, she risks having her heart shattered. Making matters worse, Jeremiah’s fiercest rival is determined to steal Lucy’s affection…and to do it, he’ll show her the sinister side of Jeremiah’s opulent world. With nowhere to turn and no one to trust, there’s only one thing Lucy knows for sure: she’ll never be free from Jeremiah’s sweet possession.

Serials…  I think I’m done with those.  NO, I still love my Lucky Charms.  But I’m not a fan of novels being written so that they’re spread out over months with cliffhangers in between.  I’ve tried them and they’re just not for me.  Thank goodness that Ms. Fawkes (and St. Martin’s) has published her serial hit Anything He Wants and it’s follow-up, Castaway, as a complete novel.  YAY!!!  I loved Ms. Fawkes’ Breathe Into Me so when I saw the opportunity to read these complete stories sooooo….

I like erotic contemporary romances.  I’m a sucker for stories that showcase the role sex plays in a relationship.  Specifically, how a relationship develops and changes around the sex or how it changes a character.

Anything He Wants is about a girl who gets her chance with that guy she’s been eyeballing for some time now on her elevator rides up to work.  She has no clue who he is but she’s come to the point where she times her arrival at work so she’s fairly certain she’ll see him on the elevator for her daily dose of eye candy.  When she’s given the opportunity for more and has virtually nothing to lose, she takes it.  She’s young so what the heck.  If I was 23 and was in her shoes, I would have done the same thing!

Castaway is about how Jeremiah and Lucy deal with their “relationship” in their lives and the mess of the Hamilton family legacy.  And oh what a mess Jeremiah and his brother Lucas have inherited.  Unfortunately, Lucy is caught in the middle.  Too bad Jeremiah and Lucas’ mother Georgia wasn’t.

Frankly I was surprised by the amount of drama and suspense in the secondhand plot of the story (the main story being Jeremiah and Lucy’s relationship).  It drove the main plot and gave credence to Jeremiah’s point of view on life.  The only negative consequence might have been that it left little room for fuller character development.  I wanted to know more about Lucy and her past.

We only learned about Lucy’s past whenever something arose that was similar or met a need of the plot.  An example, in Castaway, was when they went ATV’ing.  Oh, you need Lucy to know how to drive an ATV?  Well, good thing that she drove snowmobiles at her family’s house in Canada.  After this happened a few more times, it got old.

Jeremiah, on the other hand, was more thoroughly dissected.  That may be because his voice wasn’t a part of the story.  The story is told from Lucy’s POV so it’s important for the reader to really understand why Jeremiah does the things he does.  Trust me, there’s a good reason he’s a wee bit “relationship-challenged”.  His life has been held captive by his horrible father, even after his father’s death.

Yes, put together, these two books are quite a handful to read but you’ll definitely want both because Anything He Wants has a doozy of a cliffhanger at the end.  As a reward for all your reading, you ARE treated to a bonus story at the end of Castaway that is six chapters in length.  It was okay…  I enjoyed it but it wasn’t necessary to the other two stories.

Do I recommend this book to erotic fiction readers?  Yes, I do.  Just know that romance shares the spotlight with a plot heavy on suspense and drama.  I loved the combination!  I’m a fan of Ms. Fawkes and I can’t wait to see what she has coming next.

About the author:

Sara Fawkes has always loved spinning tales, but her romantic roots come from sneaking her mother’s old Johanna Lindsay books from the dresser drawer. She’s been writing stories since she was a little girl (and has the home made books from preschool to prove it), and loves creating stories and characters and interesting messes for them to get into. An avid traveler and adventure motorcyclist, her dream job includes selling everything off and leaving civilization to see the world on two wheels, writing in cafes in each country she visits, and living off her writing. In the meantime however, she lives in California with her menagerie of pets and, when not writing, loves to rebuild old motorcycles/cars with her Dude and plays with the characters in her head.

  1. I have to admit you’ve got me interested in this book and so i’m adding it to my TBR. That being said, it does always erk me when one character is dissected more thoroughly than the other (it throws the whole thing off) but from the sounds of it the dissected character was the billionaire not Lucy which is different (it’s usually the other way around) so maybe I won’t mind it as much? Hmm I don’t know but we shall see!

It’s a LOOOOOONG book(s) so be prepared! Amazon has an excerpt, I think, so see if you like Fawkes voice 😀

I can’t help but to groan anything I see something like this in the blurb. Kind of over it. This sounds interesting, and I like that it’s the serial all together.

I eat this stuff up like movie popcorn – I can’t get enough! Completely ridiculous but that’s me! I’m off my rocker!!! This one had action + sex so it was different. And the rich guy didn’t get what he wanted most of the time and stomped around pissed about it 😀 I read this b/c it was Sara Fawkes, anyways…. honestly, I don’t read too many of these. Only J. Kenner and Fawkes if she writes any more 😉
