Sunday Post #57: Phew, Got That Life Event Out Of The Way

The Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer and it’s a chance to showcase new books and re-cap your week of blogging.

I’m an sooooo happy to report that yesterday I ran in my very first ever 5K race.  It was a lot of FUN!!  I was so nervous before hand but it was weird, I didn’t feel nervous.  My stomach was in knots for days before.  I stressed myself into a migraine (I’m paying for it NOW).  I kept telling myself I was just going for a run.  Apparently that wasn’t working.  Perhaps the fact that I was running with a bunch of strangers, a route I didn’t know, and a distance I’ve never done before didn’t help.  Yeah, that last bit was probably it.

But I persevered and ran the entire race – no walking.

Just a side note:  I might be drug addled right now but I wanted to say I love book blogging.

Thank you to Kim and Christy – you two make this fun!

I will do another race! I just need to train to be faster now 😉 I was next to last in my age group 44-49. I must of ran backwards at some point 😀

Someone did a tour-review of it this week and I couldn’t resist the cheap buy! I eat up fun tropes like that!!!

  1. Congratulations on the 5km run. I’ve tried those Couch to 5km phone apps a few times (back when I was fitter) and generally got to week 3 (of 8 or 9) and quit, so it’s fabulous you’ve done it.

  2. YAY for not walking at all! My husband and I have done the Couch 2 5K workout program and we worked our way up to running it straight too. It’s amazing how much running is your mind overcoming your body. Or really your mind overcoming itself. I hope you enjoy your new books. I’m not familiar with any of them! Have a great week!

  3. Congrats on the 5K! That must be a great feeling- and no walking! Good for you. I bet it was hot too, if your weather is anything like ours has been the last two days. Muggy…

Enjoy your reads this week! 🙂
