Bloggiesta Time! I’ve Got My Work Cut Out For Me

Posted September 16, 2015 in Feature / 9 Comments

Suey from It’s All About Books and Danielle from There’s A Book host this wonderful four day event where a bunch of bloggers get together and work on all those small or large blog maintenance tasks that have been piling up but you never find time to do.  Well, here’s your chance to get down to work.

But that’s not all.  There are many, MANY challenges scheduled throughout the weekend for you to take advantage of.  Awesome bloggers take the time to share their knowledge and challenge you do things like clean up your email or learn how to use Tweetdeck and organize your Twitter.

All this greatness is HERE or click the button above!!

I originally didn’t think I’d be able to work on my blog this weekend but turns out I can so here I am!  Here’s my better-late-than-never to do list (in no particular order):

  • Clean out Goodreads TBR
  • Finish styling Opt-in bar (consult Nosegraze’s post)
  • Make a “Blogs I Follow” list/page – went with Blogroll, adding blogs
  • Make a blog style sheet: Pick a new “special” font, new colors, work on sidebar style
  • Re-do header design (including retina-ready)
  • Work on adding old Blogger posts to archive
  • Make Twitter header retina-ready
  • Find out how to get twitter feed to grab the correct image
  • Find Halloween graphics – skipped, didn’t see anything I liked on my fave graphics site
  • List out Blog-Ahead ideas
  • Make a Daily Blog checklist
  • Spotify feed on blog
  • Instagram feed on blog (maybe..)
  • SEO plug-in – do I? which one?

Obviously, I will not get everything on this list done but this is what we do.  We all make these big lists and go from there.  These are at least the things I want to get to this weekend, besides a bunch of the challenges I really need to hit.  If nothing, its a great way to meet people.

And if I don’t forget, talk to y’all at the Twitter chats!!

Are you doing Kimba’s Blog Ahead?? I’m going to “try” and do that for all the scheduling ahead stuff. And yeah, I got lucky that my weekend freed up a bit for this junk 😉

  1. It’s going to be a very busy Bloggiesta for you. I don’t know if you use WordPress… I’ve used All in One SEO Pack for years now. It’s easy to setup and after that I just plug in keywords for each post and it does all the rest.

    Good luck!

I am on WordPress… I’ll go check that one out b/c Yoast is a little “too” much for me 😉 THANKS!!!!

  2. In your Sunday post you said you were participating in Bloggiesta and didn’t know a lot. Your list dis-proves that! I don’t know how to do 5 things on there. You could do a tutorial for any of them. This is a beautiful, well-organized blog.
