Happy hot Labor Day weekend, everyone!  For those of you not in the states, it’s our last hurrah for the summer.  There’s some speculation about who exactly came up with idea of the holiday but it was born around 1882 out of the labor unions as a way to celebrate all the hard work Americans do*.  I, myself, have tried to do none this weekend.  I hope you’re relaxing and enjoying family and friends like I am.  It’s just a nice quiet weekend here at home for our family.

*check out this site if you care to know more about the holiday – this is where I got my info because Lord knows, I thought it was just an excuse to drink all weekend.

Bloggiesta

One event I always try and hit every year is Bloggiesta.  If you’ve heard of it, you really should check it out at least once!  It’s a weekend dedicated to your blog.  Go HERE or click the button above for more information!

One task I have planned that weekend is to weed out my virtual TBR on Goodreads.  I recently looked at a blogger friend of mine’s TBR and she had almost nothing in her’s.  I have 2,000 some odd books and I’m pretty sure 1,000 of those I will never, ever read.

I won’t be physically up for doing much more than that on that weekend because I will be recuperating from some medical testing on that Friday (nothing serious – all routine!).  But I wanted to make sure I shouted out that Bloggiesta was coming up!!

  1. Happy Labor day long weekend. We have a labor (labour) day in Australia as well, though individual States decide when it is so it doesn’t always match up. Any long weekend is a good one however!

    Have a fabulous week!

  4. Happy labor day weekend, Kristin! We don’t have that in Europe, but here in Geneva, we have Thursday next week off – but not Friday. I wish they’d just give us the Friday as well, as it would be nice to have an actual long weekend, you know?
You got some nice-looking books this past week, and sometimes, it’s good to be a buyer, too 🙂
Have a fantastic week ahead and happy reading.
