Blogger Shame Reading Challenge – Couldn’t Be More Appropriate

Blogger Shame Reading Challenge

I have to say, I don’t think it can get any worse than being late putting up your host challenge post…  ∗head desk∗

New year, new week!  Here we go!!

Anna from herding cats & burning soup wanted to add a new challenge in 2016 and she remembered an idea I had in a forum we both talk on.  She asked if she could use my idea and because I’m such a lazy git, I whole-heartedly agreed.  I’ve never hosted a challenge before in my over four years of blogging and Anna has oodles of experience.  Slam dunk!

…but what happens to those old ARCs that sit waaaay at the bottom of your NetGalley “Reading List”?  Lost.  Forgotten.  Lonely.

Introducing ∗cough, cough∗

The Blogger Shame Reading Challenge!

Now’s the time to scroll down and give some love to those deserted, forsaken books that need affection (ie. reviews), too.  So step away from the shiny, new ARCs and pick up an old one!

Here are the details of the Reading Challenge:

Challenge begins Jan 1, 2016 and ends Dec 31, 2016

All review books that have been on your review list for 6+ months count.

Any book format counts (eARCs, ARCs).

Crossovers with other challenges are okay (and fun!).

You pick the number of books for your individual challenge.

Once a quarter there will be a wrap up post to show off progress!

(sign up post— JOIN US ANYTIME!)

quarter 1 post–end of March
quarter 2 post–end of June
quarter 3 post–end of September
quarter 4 post–end of Dec wrap up post

There’s a FB group for our challenges this year if you’d like to join for support, suggestions and event updates! Just go HERE.

Once you have posted the reviews for your book(s), you can post them HERE to show off your hard work.

My “Blogger Shame” for all to see…

NetGalley Shame

There’s only 2 books on page 3 so it’s bad, just not Titanic bad.  Crazier even still is that there are 3 books on here that I’ve read and just haven’t written reviews for.  And NO, I won’t show you my Edelweiss pages.  Hideous.

My goal is to read 24 books starting at the bottom and working my way up.  That’s 2 books a month.  Mighty big goals but it’s gotta be done.

Wish me luck… I’m gonna need it!

About Kristin

Kristin has to ensure she gets her minimal requirement of "happily ever after" books in between those books that contain cliffhangers and never-ending story arcs. It's for her family's sake. When not reading, she's homeshooling her 10-year old son, watching cartoons on TV, or taking a nap.

  1. I love this challenge, and I can’t wait to start on it. Over the years since blogging, I have taken a couple of breaks….and that is where I missed on getting reviews done. Hope you get your goals for the year accomplished.
