Valentine’s night. Three women. A hot new club where anything can happen.

After a life changing tragedy Layla Hunter is finally happy. Michael Banks has pulled her back from the dead and given her a love she’d thought was lost to her forever. Now, all she wants is to return the favor and give him the one thing she swore she’d never do again.

Jillian Banks is up for absolutely anything and her smoking hot fiancé, Leo Santoro, is determined to give it to her. After exploring her fantasies in the privacy of her own home, Jillian’s ready for more and Leo is going above and beyond to make her happy. In return, she’ll do anything to make him proud.

Ruby Stiles isn’t sure what she’s doing at a sex party at one of Chicago’s most anticipated new clubs. Currently she’s blaming it on curiosity. All she wants is to disappear into the background, only her emotions have decided to go on a roller coaster ride and the last thing she expects is for Chad Fellows to pick up the pieces.

Sometimes even the best laid plans unravel…

*While Unraveled can be read as a standalone for fun, it is best read after reading CRAVE and SINFUL

Hot! Hot! Romance

So Valentine’s Day… the holiday that has been hyped up for lovers where all your romantic dreams will come true…right?  That’s the way it’s supposed to happen, Hallmark told me so, dammit!

Yeah, it never quite lives up to my expectations…

For Layla and Jillian, though, they have awesome boyfriends they are both hella thankful for.  So Layla and Jillian want to give Michael and Leo a fantastic night out at their mutual friend’s new club.  Along for the ride is Ruby, Layla’s best friend from college and Chad, a friend of Layla’s as well.

Before I go any further, I want to strongly suggest that you read the Undone series in order.  I implore you, to get the most out of this story and understand the crux of the situations each “couple” is in, go back and start with the first book in the series, Crave.  I’ve done my civic duty; you’ve been warned 😉

The story is told in three points of view: Layla’s, Jillian’s, and Ruby’s.

I absolutely adored getting back to Layla and Michael.  I actually had to remind myself that the time frame for the three books in this series are a little out of order so Unraveled actually takes place just after Layla and Michael’s book, Crave.  I had to remind myself as I was reading Unraveled that their relationship is still new.  I kind of missed these two love birds.

The thing I like most about Ms. Dawson’s writing is that she doesn’t just write a romance, she writes more of a “relationship-romance”.  She puts two people together specifically to see how the one person can help the other person, and vice versa.  And not just help like, “Here’s a dollar.”  Help as in connecting to a need deep down in someone’s soul that makes them complete.  But Ms. Dawson makes it so it reciprocal, or at least it has been in the first two books.

That’s why I’m really looking forward to Ruby’s book next.  But I’m getting ahead of myself.  In Unraveled, Ruby is tagging along to this private “sex” party to observe first hand the relationship between a Dom and his or her sub.  Ruby has been curious since the first book.  We finally learn her reason why she’s so curious in THIS book!

Despite being left completely in the lurch at the end with Ruby’s tale (her book is coming out in April – too far away!!), I totally ate up this story in the matter of a day.  I loved the twists, turns, and surprises!  I recommend this series to anyone who is just getting into reading the more erotic literature because how it portrays the overall relationship – the mind, the body, and the heart.

About Jennifer Dawson

Jennifer Dawson

Jennifer Dawson grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and graduated from DePaul University with a degree in psychology. She met her husband at the public library while they were studying. To this day she still maintains she was NOT checking him out. Now, over twenty years later, they’re married and living in a suburb right outside of Chicago with two awesome kids and a crazy dog. Despite going through a light FM, poem writing phase in high school, Jennifer never grew up wanting to be a writer (she had more practical aspirations of being an international super spy). Then one day, suffering from boredom and disgruntled with a book she’d been reading, she decided to put pen to paper. The rest, as they say, is history.

About Kristin

Kristin has to ensure she gets her minimal requirement of "happily ever after" books in between those books that contain cliffhangers and never-ending story arcs. It's for her family's sake. When not reading, she's homeshooling her 10-year old son, watching cartoons on TV, or taking a nap.

    • Psssst. I’ve got your plans! A book, chocolates (Target has a fabulous selection as of last night!!!), and peace and quiet! My hubs can always support that – no effort!

  1. This sounds great, Kristin! And thanks for letting me know that it’s really important to read this series in order. I get much more out of novellas if I’m already familiar with the universe in which the story unfolds.
We don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day, and this year, my husband will be traveling, so it’s sure that nothing special will happen 🙂 That’s OK, though, I have more than enough book boyfriends to keep me company 😉
