Sunday Post #81: My Garage is a Giant Kitty Litter Box

Posted March 20, 2016 in Meme / 19 Comments

The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer and it’s a chance to showcase new books and re-cap your week of blogging.

A pretty boring week here until this weekend.  My little POS Honda Odyssey decided to dump all her steering fluid on the garage floor.  She’s in the shop right now so, to my husband’s discontent, I’m tooling around town in his newer Toyota 4Runner…. ohhhhh yeah….  My hubs is such a nut about me driving his car.  It’s not like I get into accidents or get tickets – he got the last one.  He’s just particular about his stuff (ha!).

Update on my Take Control of You TBR Pile Challenge books:

Written in Red (The Others #1) by Anne Bishop

The Hurricane (The Hurricane #1) by R.J. Prescott  – added this book to the challenge (hey, it counts!)

Murder of Crows (The Others #2) by Anne Bishop – reading right now

Red Rising (Red Rising #1) by Pierce Brown

Golden Son (Red Rising #2) by Pierce Brown

Magic Bites (Kate Daniels #1) by Ilona Andrews

Clean Sweep ARC Challenge

Sign-ups opened this week for the Clean Sweep ARC Challenge coming this May!

I have the honor of hosting this year with Kimba at Caffeinate Book Reviewer.  Click the button above or go HERE and check out all the details.

It was a fabulous week for me because I received two books I was on pins and needles waiting for!  Torture time was minimal, too 😉  I am so, so stoked to start these!!!

I’m hugely grateful to both Macmillan and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, thank you!

I forgot to include this in last week’s post…. Adios Amigo 🙁

About Kristin

Kristin has to ensure she gets her minimal requirement of "happily ever after" books in between those books that contain cliffhangers and never-ending story arcs. It's for her family's sake. When not reading, she's homeshooling her 10-year old son, watching cartoons on TV, or taking a nap.

  1. Don’t you just love having that crap all over the garage floor? Good luck with your vehicle… and enjoy the new ride ha ha!

    Ever the Hunted looks good.

    Nice video. 🙂

    • Bwahahaha! You nailed it!! I ONLY adjusted the seat a tiny bit (hubs is NOT tall) and he almost popped a blood vessel in his eye. His eyeball would have fell out if I touched the mirrors!!! I’m not cleaning up that mess…. 😉

  2. Haha that’s funny that your husband doesn’t like you driving around his car! But ugh about the messy garage though.
I’m curious about Ever the Hunted, but too many of these debut books this year have burned me bad, so I’m going to wait to see what others think of it first.
Enjoy your books this week and have a great week! 🙂

    • I know what you mean!! It’s been a weird year, right? I saw that you guys “gave up” on WoW, even! Speaking of, maybe you’ll be inspired by a book on the “other side” (your other blog)??? 🙂

  3. Sorry about your car!! I hate having to share cars with my husband. I am the particular one! Plus, his car is an automatic and I drive a stick. So, I keep trying to shift and its just bad!! Hopefully yours gets fixed quickly!
Can’t wait to see what you think of Dirty!

  4. UGH. Car drama is the worst! I hope yours gets worked out soon! Enjoy running around in the hubby’s vehicle in the meantime. 🙂 I have an eARC of Dirty, too. I need to get to it soon. I really enjoyed Kylie’s Stage Dive series, so I’m really excited about this new one!

Hope you have a great week!

  5. Sorry about your car going into the shop. That is never fun and like you said, you have the added fun of the mess of the litter tracking into the house. Yuck. I’m so glad that you’ve started The Others series and that you’re enjoying it. I see you also have Kate Daniels on your list too. Those there are two of my all time favorite series. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Kate.

  6. I think you should make sure your car stays in the shop as long as possible so you can eke out your driving of hubby’s car.

It looks like you’re getting through your TBR pile, so well done!
