Sunday Post #84: Maybe If I Ignore It, It Will Go Away

Posted April 10, 2016 in Meme / 17 Comments

The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer and it’s a chance to showcase new books and re-cap your week of blogging.

Can you believe this crazy weather?  It really does not inspire me in any way whatsoever.  So I haven’t been posting any reviews.  Because I haven’t been reading.  I just can’t get into any books right now.   I know it’s not the book’s fault so I don’t want to DNF the books.  So I just quietly put them aside and move on.  No harm, no foul.

I got an awesome new writing desk to work at while I’m in the living room.  No more slouching on the couch with the computer on my lap (booo!).  I have to sit up relatively straight now.  And I actually get stuff done.  Although, it’s a bit more difficult to do some of my graphic work with my 9 year old lurking around.  He can see my screen much easier now and my work at the moment is of a, shall we say, of a more graphic nature….  “Mom, what are those two people doing?!”  “Uhhhhhhhhh..”

I’m getting so excited for BookExpo America 2016 coming up in just one month!  I can’t wait to SEE old friends and meet new friends.  And I’ll be surrounded by fellow book geeks and books!!!  In Chicago!   I’ve started making a Google Map and pinning places I’d like to try and go to.  That way when I get there, I’m not floundering for things to do and places to eat.  If you’re going, PLEASE make sure to look for me!  I’d love to meet ‘cha!

Here’s hoping spring comes soon…  I need to start thawing out!!!!

About Kristin

Kristin has to ensure she gets her minimal requirement of "happily ever after" books in between those books that contain cliffhangers and never-ending story arcs. It's for her family's sake. When not reading, she's homeshooling her 10-year old son, watching cartoons on TV, or taking a nap.

  1. What kind of graphics you workin on lol? That’s funny… no the weather pretty much sucks here and I’m sure it does on your side too. Especially the last few days… colder than $%^.

Nice that BEA is in Chicago, good for all the midwest folks anyway.

  2. Bahahahaha! I’m with Greg! I need to know what kind of graphics you’re working on! 😉
How exciting you’re going to BEA! Have you been every year? I hope to go someday, but it’s always in the middle of finals and I can’t ditch those …. though I have been tempted! I hope you have fun and I expect a full recap! 😀
I’m sorry to hear about the slump. Maybe taking a break from books is a good idea. Maybe binge watch a TV show! Or reading old favorites might help too. In any case, I hope it goes away soon!
What Light’s cover is so gorgeous! I’m excited for Smash & Grab and Supernovas! I hope they are great!
    Have a great week, Kristin!

  3. Oh no how awkward with your son!!! I hear you on the weather. It has been so dreary over here lately. YAY for BEA. I want to go so bad. Hopefully next year! At least you have a plan and what not. I have no idea how I missed Jay Asher was coming out with a new book. I will have to keep my eye out on NG for it. Have a great week!

  4. It snowed here (Ohio) yesterday. Its APRIL. And I don’t even live in northern Ohio; No, I live 10 min from Kentucky in Cincinnati! It should not snow in April! Ranting over…
Fate and Forever was good. I enjoy that series! It was a super short read though.
Hope the weather improves for you!

  5. I just give up on the weather…it wins, I just can’t even anymore.

I am excited to meet you in Chicago…I need to do some map pinning also, so my husband has places to go and we can find places to eat while we are there. We really want to try a lot of different restaurants since we don’t know when we will be back to Chicago again.

I just got over a reading slump and I am not 100% sure I am out of it yet but so far a quick genre change and I was able to finish 2 this week…might have to change my goodreads goal since if this keeps up I wont make it to 100 by the end of the year.

Have a great week, Kristin! Happy Reading!

  6. I woke up to snow on my lawn yesterday. We rarely have snow covering this late in the year in Ohio. I guess winter is making up for being mild by not leaving. I so wish I could go to BEA and see everyone. I had so much fun at RT last year. Maybe next year I can find some cons to go to. I hope you have a good time.

  7. BEA sounds like so much fun and I hope to go one day. I can’t wait for us to receive our April XOXpert package, it’s like Christmas every month lol. I plan to read Kristin Harmel’s book since I enjoyed The Life Intended. I hope you have a great week!

  8. So many bloggers I’ve read today / yesterday have mentioned BEA so I hope you have a bloggy get-together and share some pics!

The new desk sounds great! It’s important to have a place to write that feels comfy!

  9. I really really hope I can make it to BEA this year, since it’s much closer being in Chicago. If it goes back to NYC, I might not make it for a long time again. haha I should know more this week though. *fingers crossed*

I totally agree about the weather! I need some warmer sun so I can sit outside and read.
