The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer and it’s a chance to showcase new books and re-cap your week of blogging.

I was very busy this week with design work that I didn’t get a chance to write or even CHECK on my blog this week!  There was a WordPress update and I didn’t even know it.  I always backup my blog like a fiend before I update WordPress. I don’t let WordPress update itself on it’s own.  You just never know what will happen to your theme or any customizations when WordPress updates 😉  I update both on my cPanel at my host and using the plugin I paid for last year.

I did read a ton of books this week, though.  I can say I’m coming out of my reading slump and it’s all thanks to being inspired by two books:

Dirty150 WhenWeCollided150

I’d forgotten how funny Kylie Scott is.  And Emery Lord was able to put an extremely realistic portrayal of depression into words.  I cried from 80% until the end.  I promise, I’ll have the reviews for both this coming week 🙂

BEA-Logo

Well, I went and scheduled a migraine – I bought a ticket to BookCon.  It’s the open-to-the-public-chaos that is on Saturday after BEA closes.  My train doesn’t leave Union Station until 4pm and I would have spent the $30 for the ticket on food or junk anyways.  So I figured, why not?  Besides, a lot of my favorite authors will be there that I don’t see scheduled during BEA (damn it!)

I also got my business cards in the mail this past week.  Yep, I finally nailed down a design for my “business” and had time to do the cards.  Not too bad for my first try (caveat: I did Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer’s cards but she had a definite idea of what she wanted – phew!)  These are front and back cards, glossy, and I got them from Vistaprint, 100 for a little less than $30.  I used Photoshop instead of Illustrator to do them and despite worrying about seeing the pixels,  they came out fabulous.  I’m so happy with them!!

Now, all I have to do is get something up on my design site.  Yep, all I have to do…

    • shhhh, I can email you how to back up… if you know how to get to your Host’s cPanel, you can do it!! So super easy 🙂 I’ll email you

  1. Yay! I’m really glad you liked When We Collided! It was amazing, wasn’t it?
Loving those business cards, Kristin! If I ever I decide to get some, I’m coming to you! 😛
So excited for your design shop! Good luck with it! 🙂
Happy reading and enjoy all those awesome new reads!

    • I loved your review of When We Collided and it totally inspired me!!! If mental health doesn’t touch your life, you have no idea about it and it looks completely UNREAL. That’s what was amazing about her book – she made it real. HEY! I should put that in my review 🙂

    • Well, damn, I’m just going to write a post instead of emailing everyone 🙂 It’s so super easy if you self-host. And you don’t have to buy a plug-in 🙂

psst. I think the 68 degrees we hit yesterday helped the slump, too!! You get the sun yet??

  2. I have so much ARC envy this week!! I am super jealous of your being an XOXpert! (Seriously, everyone got some great ARCs this week and I am worried I am actually turning green!)
    Have fun at BEA!

  3. Your business cards look lovely – attractive and professional. And you’ve netted an impressive haul of books, too. I was interested to see you’ve got The Star-Touched Queen, which I really enjoyed. Have a great reading week – I was going to wish you some sunshine to go with it, but it sounds as if you’re already basking… This is my weekly roundup

  4. Nice cards- great job. And yay for Bookcon- I’m not doing BEA but I did think about hopping over to Bookcon just because of the authors. Chicago’s not far… don’t think I can though, stuff going on. Is BEA in Chicago only this year?

How about frickin summer all of a sudden??? 🙂
