Good Morning and Happy Sunday, Everyone!

Nobody likes to hear people whine and complain about their lives.  But I know I love to hear what’s going on in everyone’s lives, whether it’s good (so I can cheer) or if it’s bad (so I can offer support &/or prayers).  This past week explains why I watch cartoons and read books…

I’ve “published”, changed, and “updated” this post a gazillion times this weekend.  At first I had a list of the crap I dealt with this week.  Then I edited my ramblings.  I had to ADD to the list on Friday.  Finally, on Saturday night at 10:10pm, I decided that my blog is not a platform for complaining.

Let’s just say it was a craptastic week last week and call it done.  It can only get better from here, right?  😀

Blogosphere

After a near heart-attack, courtesy of Christy from Christy’s Love of Books, I’ve determined that my website / blog / hosting account is running PHP version 5.6.  It did take a phone call to my web hosting service but they’re awesome so no big.  Do you know what version you’re running?  Hope it’s better than 5.4.

Bad news… I noticed I got white listed for two new publishers: one in NetGalley and one in Edelweiss.  This does not bode well.

If you’re a geek like me, you probably heard that Pokemon Go went live (finally!) here in the U.S. this week.  Pokemon Go is an app that uses your phone’s GPS to locate virtual Pokemon out in the “wild”.  You battle these Pokemon and collect them as you walk around… everywhere!!  I collected 8 Pokemon on one dog walk!

My Pokemon – I’ve only been out once hunting so I’m pretty proud 🙂

And even with servers going down, “trainers” are still managing to annoy the public.  I’m not sure why because I could tap on the Pokemon just out of my reach and I could bring them in the road to me.  Meh…

  1. hah! That sign is kind of hilarious, but I get it. You don’t want people running around your store without paying for anything and getting in the way of actual customers. A lot of my friends were over tonight talking about Pokemon Go. LOL

I’m sorry to hear you had such a bad week! And hey, it’s your blog – you can vent and THEN share good stuff too. We’re all here for you!

  2. Ah, sorry the week sucked. But Pokemon Go! I need to get in on that action… I don’t know what that crazy purple deathsquirrel is all about but you have to fight it?? Hmmm…lol

I need to look into this. 🙂

    • I love that name!! Death Squirrel!! LOL!!! All you really do is throw your Pokeball at it, you just have to actually hit the sucker. I’m still giggling..

    • What’s hilarious about Pokemon Go is dragging your poor mid-poop dog b/c you’re too focused on getting to a Pokemon just out of your reach… my poor Lakota 🙁 Served me right, I had multiple bombs to pick up o.O

    • PHP makes the world (your blog since it’s wordpress) go round. Your blog isn’t going slow so I think you’re okay. If it starts to choke and sputter, which is what Christy’s did this past weekend, then call your webhost and make sure your PHP version is greater than 5.4 because that just version just became “unsupported”. 5.6 is the norm now. I actually looked at my cPanel and it said I had 5.4 but when I called my Host company, they confirmed I was running 5.6 (which I updated months ago). Weirdness.

    • Yay!!! Another Ilona Andrews fan!! I had no idea… I think I love you more 😉 (sorry for the late reply – I’ve been sick)

  3. I was very excited to get a Gastly and also got an Eevee yesterday. I have been out 3 days. The most I have ever walked and I am so happy about it. I forgot how much I love it. I wish the kids could play with me but they don’t have data on the iPads. I have been having so much fun and I am pretty sure everyone on my street thinks I am a complete nut with how many times I have walked by their house.

I try so hard not to sound all crappy on the sunday post but sometimes I can’t help it. I am trying so hard to get my act together, just seems to be harder than I thought…I might need more wine! 😉

Have a great week, Kristin! Happy Reading!

    • It’s funny, I don’t mind reading other’s peep’s problems because it help me feel human!!!! I just feel weird about telling everyone about all my crappy stuff. Am I hypocritical? Meh…

I just realized that Jake doesn’t have a real phone! He has a turned-off phone that goes off our wireless. I guess he won’t be playing Pokemon, even if he wanted to 🙁 Ya know, if you REALLY wanted them to play, you could “hot-spot” them to your phone…. 😉

    • Ya know what’s nice about Pokemon is that it can entertain you when you’re bored somewhere. I haven’t played it in days b/c I’ve been sick but it’ll be there when ever I get out to the grocery store, the mall, or anywhere else I get dragged (ha!).

  4. My cousin showed me Pokemon Go today. We walked all around my parents neighborhood trying to find them. Hilarious! Sorry you had a craptastic week! Hopefully this week is better!!!

    • I actually went to the doctor on Tues and found out I have a nasty sinus infection! I’ve got LOTS of drugs but that’s probably why I was so emotional last week :S It’s already a better week this week, thanks!!!

    • Did you look at your PHP? If everything is running on the blog, you’re A-OKAY 🙂 And thanks, my week is already better!!!

  5. Sorry to hear your week was craptastic. I hope this week will be better. So many people have been posting about Pokemon Go, it’s quite a hit.

Happy reading and have a good week!

  6. Sorry to hear you had a crappy week Kristin, but never feel you can’t complain – esp here in the wrap-up post. You might find others can relate and feel less alone in dealing with their own crap as well.

    (Well, that’s what I tell myself when I over-share!) 😉

I hope this week is a better one!

    • THAT is exactly what I told someone above about oversharing!! I don’t when others do it b/c I feel better about being human and having my problems. I don’t feel alone. I just feel weird complaining when there’s so much worse out there 🙁 Yeah, I’m totally over analyzing it 😉

    • I NEVER played Pokemon because *cough* it was after my time but I’ve played with my son and watched the anime so I know a tiny bit 🙂 I imagine Pokemon Go should come your way soon, it started in Japan and it’s in Australia. Not too far of a leap, I say!

  7. YAS! Pokemon Go. I downloaded the app on Friday and have been having a blast with it. It’s kind of fun seeing all the people roaming around Chicago doing it. It sparked a random conversation with someone on the bus on Saturday since we were both playing.

Sorry to hear that your week wasn’t a good one. 🙁 I hope this week goes better for you.

    • THAT is fantastic!!! That’s what I want to get out of it!!! The walking and meeting nice people is such a positive of the game 🙂 LOVE!!
