Sunday Post #101: I Did a Lot of Stuff

Posted September 25, 2016 in Meme / 18 Comments

The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer and it’s a chance to showcase new books and re-cap your week of blogging.

I had such an awesome time in the Minneapolis area visiting with my husband’s family.  Of course, no event is ever complete without a little family drama.  But all in all, it was awesome to see family we haven’t seen in too long.

Besides getting a new tattoo (it’s a tree) while my sister-in-law got her first, my son and I made out like bandits in the Mall of America while playing PokemonGO.  I was in PokeStop heaven!  We also found a fantastic Japanese store called Tomodachi.  So flippin’ adorable.  Here are some pics from my trip:

While we were travelling, we used our Directv App A LOT to watch TV!!  I was happy to be a long time customer before but now I’m slightly happier now (WOOT!).  Because my husband can’t have enough shows to watch (seriously?), we moved into this millennium and got Netflix.  Yep, on top of Amazon Prime AND Directv, we have Netflix now.  I don’t know if we could blow more money on TV we don’t watch if we tried 😛

In other fantastically lame and related news, I finally saw the end of Star Wars: A Force Awakens and I know who dies at the end (happy closure dance!).  And that ending…  really?  UGH…  Still a fantastic movie, though.  Also lamely related, I started Guardians of  the Galaxy this weekend.  I might be done by the end of the year!

ANNNNNDDDD… we saw Storks this weekend!  It was great, but I think I was the only one in our theater laughing.  I LOVED the Lego Ninjago Movie short that preceded the movie.  My son and I couldn’t control ourselves, it was sooooo funny!!!!

I have no idea – I’m in such a slump / quandary as to my mood and what I want to read.  Nothing is “fun” right now (Boooo!)

A huge thank you to Cecy Robson, Simon & Schuster, HarperCollins, & HMH.

That’s enough for me this week…. phew!!!

PS – Sorry for all the typos the first time around (there’s probably more)!  Toss post together at last minute + Son wide awake at midnight the night before = Falling asleep on computer

About Kristin

Kristin has to ensure she gets her minimal requirement of “happily ever after” books in between those books that contain cliffhangers and never-ending story arcs. It’s for her family’s sake. When not reading, she’s homeshooling her 10-year old son, watching cartoons on TV, or taking a nap.

  1. Ha look at you having fun. Major jealousy since I haven’t been to Mall of America yet. Nice tattoo!

Yeah for Netflix! I live on that thing. 🙂 And Star Wars- grr I still hate that death and how they did it. And yes that ending- oh hi Luke! Oops the end. Grr… Glad you liked it though! :):):)

I’m loving anything LEGO these days.

    • We are simpatico…

YES!!!! “Luke glare” for 2 minutes solid?!?! Like I can figure anything out from that?!?! *sigh*

  2. Sam

I love Minneapolis! MN is so pretty and it’s been quite a while since I went to the Mall of America. I might need to make a trip up there soon to see some friends. I love that giant Pusheen stuffed animal. So cute!

I’m in a bit of a reading slump too. I have 3 different books going at the moment and none are holding my attention.

I still need to watch Guardians of the Galaxy. My TV/movie backlog is huge. I also need to get around to watching Stranger Things and Deadpool.

  3. Glad you had a great trip! My kids would love that store..I think I would too 🙂 Love the Tattoo!

I tried to get rid of our TV, like the movie channels but all the options had us losing to much of channels we watch. I usually just watch Netflix and Hulu but need my Hallmark and Destination America. I was so bummed. You could save so much if they would let you get rid of those channels you never watch.

My reading is still a little slumpy, I am trying to find books I want to read, just seem to be stuck in a rut. Hope we both break out of that soon.

Have a great week, Kristin! Happy Reading, I hope! oxox

  4. Ah looks like you guys had a good time. I so want to make it to Mall of America at some point. Love the tattoo!! Netflix is the best. And I love Amazon Prime Tv too. Plus our cable. So yeah we spend a lot on TV here as well. I cannot wait to take the kids to see Storks. I am excited. Lots of pretty new books – enjoy!! Have a great week!

  5. I want to get Netflix and must do something about it this week. I think I need something that allows me to access it on my TV – as my TV isn’t new enough… (sigh)

Your trip looked great and I love the pics and guess there will always be a bit of family drama when too many family members get together, won’t there?

  6. Hey, Kristin! So I was kinda in a slump as well. I knew it was coming. I was reading way to many 4-5 star books…for like three months straight. Then it just hit me. The past couple of weeks, Those three-star books are taking me longer than normal to read because I’m kinda just bored with them.

    Awesome tattoo!

  7. I have so much to comment on but first, HOW COME YOU WERE THE ONLY ONE LAUGHING AT THE THEATER?! Storks is amazing! I went with my boyfriend Saturday night and the whole theater was laughing. I ended up laughing even more due to the lady behind us. She had an infectious laugh.
You take so long to watch movies haha I didn’t think I would like Guardians of the Galaxy but I really did 🙂
    I love your tattoo!!
I had gotten Under Rose-Tainted Skies months ago! I’ll be reading it in November 🙂 Have a good week!

  8. I haven’t heard of Storks. That shows you what kind of a rock I live under. I don’t watch a ton of movies. Usually, comic book movies, Star Wars, and other like those. I did watch Zoopotia this weekend (again). It’s on Netflix, so I thought why not. I thought it was so cute. I have Netflix, Prime and Directv also, but I don’t have any premium channels, though we do have the sports package. Glad you had a great time on your trip. I’ve only been in Minneapolis to change planes.
