Sunday Post #106: Always Be Batman

Posted November 13, 2016 in Meme / 27 Comments

The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer and it’s a chance to showcase new books and re-cap your week of blogging.

Happy Sunday, everyone!

I’m actually sitting on the couch right now watching my Ohio State Buckeyes play college football while the bright sun is setting on a gorgeous, brisk Saturday.  My son has been sick with a cold and it seems to be getting worse so he’s camped out in front of YouTube.  Anyone else have kids who love to watch YouTube all the time???

Hubs is out running at the moment.  I took up the Couch to 5k workout again and it’s going good so far.  I have a great app I use with cues that actually work with another music app…. wow!

You know it’s right around the corner… lurking… it’s BLACK FRIDAY!!!  Time to sign up for Black Friday Book Bonanza!!  In it’s 6th year, it’s being hosted by Marlene at Reading Reality and Kimberly at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.  Click HERE or on the image above to check out the sign ups.

I received Playing with Power: Nintendo NES Classics from Lauren at Obsessive Book Nerd as kind of a gift for some easy-peasy side work I did for her.  To say I still owe her is an understatement; this book is amazing and every Nintendo lover will appreciate it!!  Thank you, Lauren!!

And thank you to HarperCollins, Penguin Random House,  and HMH!

About Kristin

Kristin has to ensure she gets her minimal requirement of “happily ever after” books in between those books that contain cliffhangers and never-ending story arcs. It’s for her family’s sake. When not reading, she’s homeshooling her 10-year old son, watching cartoons on TV, or taking a nap.

  1. So did they win? 🙂 I’ve seen NO scores at all today. Sounds like a good day though. And didn’t Steve Ott score for the Wings this week? It has been a wild week lol.

Sparks of Light looks cool, that’s the first time I’ve seen that cover.

    • OH MY GOSH YES!!!! Ott scored!!! I was watching and they were all excited and I was like, “So he scored, what’s the big deal?” hahahahaha!! I’m glad to see the guy getting play with us, especially b/c he spent time growing up in Windsor 🙂 Oh, and Buckeyes did win but they were playing Maryland so… yeah… Michigan game is going to be killer this year (ouch!!)

  2. Sorry your son is sick. Mine has a cold too. He is little and was so obsessed with YouTube and some weird videos I had to delete the app!! Now he watches shows on Netflix and Amazon Prime. Not sure if that is better or not . . , Hope Ohio State won! We have firmly moved towards college basketball in this house wth a lovely IU win over Kansas 🙂 Hope you enjoy your new books and agree – always be batman. Have a great week!!

    • OMG – I can’t avoid the weird videos (Pen Pineapple Apple Pen??? Why?!?!?!) but luckily Jake watches a lot of videogame play through videos. Everyone has a list for the best of the best… sheesh. And yep, OSU won!!

Ooooo College Basketball!! OSU usually sucks but I’m an old die-hard Cinci Bearcat fan!!

    • Jake and I chilled on the couch ALL DAY today so he and I are on the road to recovery. OF COURSE I had to get a little sick, too 😉

  3. My high school students watch youtube all the time!! Its crazy!
Great book haul! And that OSU game was a blowout yesterday!! 62-3!! Next week’s game should be good though 🙂

    • My husband took the remote from me and started watching something else when the game went to 51-6 or around there. He said we had it in hand. BOOOO!!! I told him they stopped one of our possessions so it could turn around 😉 But Michigan is going to hurt this year and I live around these fools!!! 🙁

    • So it’s definitely NOT only my son!!! Hey, at least he’ll never run out of something to watch, right??? I’m just stuck listening to it all… Boooo!!!!!! 🙂

  4. My son and daughter watch Youtube all day. So I know how that is 🙂
I love the playing with power book! I need to get that for someone for Christmas. I think he would love it.

Have a great week, Kristin! Happy Reading! ox

PS Have you played Emoji Blitz yet? Such a fun disney game! I am addicted, The kids showed me and of course now I can’t seem to stop playing it

    • I just downloaded the Disney Emoji game so I’ll try it after I’m done visiting everyone!!! And YES, he will LOVE the book – Jake’s played Mario 3 a gazillion times and still used the walk through for new stuff!!! *HUG*

    • Thanks!! I’m trying to be better but these all are parts of series I’m reading so I’m kind of stuck. Bummer (not!!) Tee, hee!!! Have a great week, too! Hope the weather is sunny there!

    • I was going through my funnies page on Pinterest and that Batman picture was an old one. I love it to pieces so I felt like sharing 🙂

    • Thank God for the filter, right!! I mean, he watches at the kitchen table or on the couch and still stuff slips through but those re-mix videos?!?!?! Holy cow, they are weird!!!! How does the pineapple pen apple guy get so many views? I. Don’t. Know. 🙂

    • Proby’s Fusion is a, how do you say, an acquired taste? They’re OKAY. I like them b/c I’m invested with the characters but not everyone loves them. For YOU… I’m saying pass b/c there’s better to start out there 😉

    • I can do that, too!!! I go looking for a makeup & hair tutorials and I get lost in theater trailers and behind the scenes stuff. Music videos, too!!! So sad… 🙁

  5. Always be Batman if you can be Batman (though dragon works here too. LOL). I’ve not watched a lot of stuff on Youtube. I mostly just get clips here and there. I haven’t watched many “shows” on there. I do have Netflix and Amazon Prime that I’ve watched a lot of stuff. We also haven’t been able to give up Directv because of football. Between the Buckeyes and the Noles, we need all the ESPN channels we can get to make sure we never miss a game. 🙂
