My Reading Challenges For 2017

Posted January 25, 2017 in Reading Challenge / 14 Comments

This year I want to be a better blogger.  It’s going to take a lot of work, I know!  But one thing I really want to do is to participate in reading challenges again.  In the past, I met some of my bestest blogging friends that way.  I may even accomplish the goals of the reading challenges while I’m at it!  You just never know!!

To find these challenges for yourself, just click on the challenge buttons to be taken to their sign-up pages!

Hosted by  Somewhere Only We Know and Words Fueled by Love, this challenge is for those books on my TBR that I haven’t been able to bring myself to read.  And believe it or not, I have quite a handful of these.  So this series will help me just get these done so I can move on.  You’ll laugh at some of the books on this list, these books are so old.  But these are the books that I HAVE to get done for this challenge.  Any other books are just frosting on the cake 🙂

I’m shooting for level 1: 1-5 books

Dead Ever After (Sookie Stackhouse #13) by Charlaine Harris

The Witch With No Name (The Hollows #13) by Kim Harrison

With All My Soul (Soul Screamers #7) by Rachel Vincent

Hosted by (un)Conventional Book Views and  Books, Movies, Reviews Oh My! , hopefully this challenge will be a slam dunk for me.  All I mostly read are new releases.  I just need to remember to post my re-caps; thank goodness they are quarterly!!!

I’m shooting for New Release Pro: 31-60 books

I stumbled on this challenge on Jessica @ a GREAT read’s blog.  I actually already follow both these lovely hosts so I’m sorry I missed this challenge announcement!  Both Feed Your Fiction Addiction and It Starts at Midnight are challenging bloggers to write more discussion posts, to TALK about books!  This is definitely something I really want to do.

I’m aiming for Discussion Dabbler: 1-10 posts this year

Just posting today is Caffeinated Book Reviewer’s annual Take Control of your TBR Challenge.  I will, of course, be participating in this.  I’m sure there will be a Twitter Party and some challenges.  I have no clue but I know I’ll be reading along because Kim (among other bloggers who I shall not name at the moment) keep making me add more books to my TBR pile!  Grrrrr…..

I’m shooting for 3 books published before March 1st, 2017 – It’s only a month long so I’m keeping my sights low!

Wish me luck and good organizational skills 😉

About Kristin

Kristin has to ensure she gets her minimal requirement of "happily ever after" books in between those books that contain cliffhangers and never-ending story arcs. It's for her family's sake. When not reading, she's homeshooling her 10-year old son, watching cartoons on TV, or taking a nap.

  1. Oh gosh, I’m so not organized. I kept track of challenge reads last year with Goodreads but I never linked them up, etc. Sigh. Good luck with all of these though! I need to sign up still, but I think I might do the discussion one because I want to do more discussions anyway and the TBR challenge because I want to read more of my own books anyway, and it’s only a month!
