Woot!  We survived the holidays and we’re into a spanking brand new year!!  I didn’t do anything crazy like make any resolutions but I’ve actually looked at those bullet journals and I’m thinking about buying one.  I really think it will fit into my life, to keep everything in one place.  I checked out the website www.bulletjournal.com for information on how it all works.

I feel so boring this week.  I don’t have anything too exciting to talk about.  I had a great holiday vacation.  I’ve been working on some projects for my graphics business (YAY!).  Not much else…  I’m just really, really boring now.

So, looking back at last year’s reading, I read 125 books.  My Goodreads goal was 150 books BUT I had increased my goal from the previous year so I don’t feel bad about my results at all.  But it was the first time I didn’t hit my goal since I missed it in 2012.  Booooo, hiss!!!

My goal for 2015 was 100 books and I read 118 so that’s why I set my goal for 2016 for 150.  Perhaps that was a bit too high.  My goal for 2017 is 115.  I want a goal that is reachable for me and doesn’t say I’m always behind 😉

The last week few week’s lists of everybody’s Top Ten Lists from 2016 proved to be very “harmful” to my TBR (wink, wink).

This is something we found funny this past week – my son can’t get enough of this!  It’s short so make sure you make it to at least 1:20!!

Have a great week!!

  1. Hey you got yourself a new pic up there or Sunday Post logo? Nice! 125 books is pretty dang awesome. And yeah it’s been a boring week because we’re snowed in! Ha ha or at least over here. Do you have snow there? It’s blowing all over the place over here…

Love that cover of Cold Summer.

OMG I just about busted a gut when he went facefirst! Damn….

  2. That video is hilarious. The gopher had on pretty normal shoes and the bear does not. 125 books is very good. I got through 184, but only 53 were not audiobooks. I wouldn’t get much done if it weren’t for me being able to listen while at work. I’m able to listen while I code (most of the time). I’ve been listening even more lately because I’ve been doing a lot of report validation. Just making sure everything looks correct and match data on the site. That doesn’t take much to think about, so I listen and just make sure one thing matches the other. I hope you have a great week.

    • I would LOVE to be able to listen to books, you don’t even KNOW!!!!! Back when I worked, I could have but now with homeschool and always around my kid, he wants my attention and I feel guilty if I can’t hear him. I guess I have to be a good mom and listen, right??? HA! I would love a job like yours!! I used to comb through bank statements balancing corporate trading accounts, looking for errors and I loved it!! It must be a geeky thing. Or maybe a “I want to leave my job at work” thing b/c you know you don’t take that work home with you 😉

  3. Sounds like you’ve had a great week. I highly recommend bullet journals. I started in August of last year and I’m a huge addict for it. If you search bullet journal junkies on facebook or even bullet journals lots of groups even a book group Bullet journal junkes – bibliophiles.
I hope you have a great week and happy reading My Sunday Post

  4. I love that you are changing your site design. Good luck on your GR reading challenge. I always go over mine each year, but decided to reduce mine this year since baby #3 is coming next month and I have no idea what kind of time i’m gonna have to read once I’m a SAHM with two and one at school. Ekk! Also, I really, really want to read The Hating Game, as I’m seeing it everywhere! Have a good week, friend!

  5. The Bourbon Thief and The Hating Game are two that I’m interested in reading. They showed that video on the news yesterday morning and it just made me laugh so hard! I loved it! I wish I could say I have had a kind of boring week, but school is back in and things are back to being crazy. Hope you have a good week coming up, and you can check out my Sunday Post in the link below!

  6. I’ve hit about the same figure for the last two years but I had a very slow December this past year. I don’t tend to set goals though as I want to be able to take it easy if I want to / am worried reading will become a chore or too competitive!

  7. Ooh, I can’t wait to see what you think about The Hating Game. It’s a good one!

My week was pretty hectic with lots of basketball and family stuff going on. I’m hoping for a more boring and less active week this time around. Fingers crossed!

I watched that video twice because I couldn’t stop laughing. That poor guy!! “I’ve never been kissed by a gopher before” LMAO!
