Make Me Read It Readathon – Vote For The Book You Think I NEED to Read

Posted July 31, 2017 in Reading Challenge / 8 Comments

Grace at Rebel Mommy Book Blog turned me onto this Read-a-thon that is hosted by Ely at Tea & Titles and Val at The Innocent Smiley, both completely new blogs to me.  I would never have heard of this cool idea for a read-a-thon had it not been for Grace.  Hence, the credit 😉

The read-a-thon itself runs from August 6th – 13th.  But before you get started, you have to pick some books for your friends to vote on.

From the sign-up post on Tea & Titles:

Look at the books you own, either physical, e-book or ones you’ve borrowed from the library and pick out a few you really want to read, or feel like you should read. It’s up to you how many you pick, personally I’d pick a few more than you expect to be able to read in a week. Example: if you think you’ll only read two, pick out five books or if you think you can read seven, pick out ten.

Make a list of these books on your blog, or make a video, or a Goodreads shelf or post a picture on Instagram—whatever is easiest for you. Then get friends, other bloggers/booktubers/bookstagrammers etc. to vote on which books you HAVE to read.

When the readathon comes along, you read the books in the order of most votes. For example, if one book gets 10 votes—you read that first, then the one that got 7 and so on. If there’s a tie, then it’s your preference. The goal is to read as many as possible.

So, here are my books that I own but have yet found the time to sit and read.  I have a tendency to buy popular books and then forget I own them… oops.  Now you can make me read a few of them!

What book MUST I read?

Paper Princess
This Shattered World
The Hating Game
A Gathering of Shadows
The Bourbon Thief

Thank you for voting!!

  1. I just read The Hating Game a couple of months ago, and LOVED it, it was so dang good. I think you will really love it. Good luck with this Read a Thon, they are so fun to participate in.

  2. I have been thinking about adding a poll with popular books I own and having people pick which one I read next on a monthly blog post but I’ve never done it yet, so I’m happy to see this readathon going around. I will definitely have to join in on the fun one of these times. lol! Hope you end up loving whichever one you read!
