Sunday Post #123: Praying for Family and Friends in Florida

Posted September 10, 2017 in Meme / 17 Comments

The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer and it’s a chance to showcase new books and re-cap your week of blogging.

Hi everyone!  I wasn’t going to post today but I really wanted to send prayers out to everyone in the path of Irma and Jose.  Please be safe and take care of yourselves!!!

I personally have family down on the east coast in Sebastian (my mother-in-law and her family) and I have family friends up and down the west coast (from Sarasota up to Brooksville).   You’ll find me glued to the TV today.

Thank you to HarperCollins and Macmillan!!!

This was my son’s first week of school.   And you know how much I love my cartoons so I thought I’d share my favorite version of “Chemistry” – as taught by Cyborg from Teen Titans Go!  Sad thing is, I really dig the song….

Have good week and if you live in the southeast U.S., stay safe!

About Kristin

Kristin has to ensure she gets her minimal requirement of "happily ever after" books in between those books that contain cliffhangers and never-ending story arcs. It's for her family's sake. When not reading, she's homeshooling her 10-year old son, watching cartoons on TV, or taking a nap.

  1. No kidding about Irma- that thing’s a mess! Hope your friends and family are safe and well. It’s going to be a nailbiting day for sure down there, and for those of us who have people down there too. Hoping for the best.

The Wife Between Us? Looks like a good thriller maybe? Will have to check it.

    Teen titans Go- nice! 🙂

    • The Wife Between Us was the result of an email… but I will say it looks really good and I’m trying to read different genres more often 🙂 I would go with suspense on it.

  2. Yep. I hope your family stays safe. I’m watching Irma’s track closely. I’m west of the cone but not relaxing yet as it will be tomorrow before I feel what we will be getting. Just breezy right now. I catch myself humming songs from kids shows and movies. And quoting from them too. LOL Nice looking batch of new books.

  3. Hope your family is safe. I have family on the east side. I have been watching CNN all day today and yesterday.

Good Luck with the first day of school (you still home school right?) I love Teen Titans Go! LOL You have two I almost grabbed from Harper Collins but I am not sure I want them yet. 🙂

Have a great week, Kristin! Happy Reading! ox

  4. We are glued to our t.v. too. Our families are all down there and only a few of them evacuated. Stubborn, I tell ya. I hope your family and friends all stay safe. Enjoy the new books, and I have to say I am a little jealous about Keep Her Safe. 😛

  5. My kids went back this week as well. It is nice to have them back in the routine. I am watching the hurricane as well. My SIL loves in Jacksonville. Praying for the hurricane victims and all of us in the West who are enduring the wildfires.

  6. I’m getting caught up after being on vacation (and the result of being on vacation). I have family that was in the path in South Georgia. They seemed to have come through okay. DH’s father’s place in Fort Myers, we still aren’t sure about. They only go for the winter and I guess there is no one that was in those homes yet, so we aren’t sure how those made it through. I’m a huge fan of Teen Titans (though I like the original better than Go!, call me old LOL). Beast is my favorite. Have a great week. 🙂
