Review: Dare to Stay by Jen McLaughlin

I just read and reviewed Sophie Jordan’s Hell Breaks Loose the other day and I can’t help but notice that I have another book on my hands here with a bad boy and his love interest in an impossible happily ever after situation. But Jen McLaughlin’s Dare to Stay is different in that Chris, our bad boy, really eff’d up. He IS a bad boy who is possibly on his way to redemption.

Lori Foster, besides being an all-around fabulous human, is an author I know I can go to for a well written romance that 9 times out of 10, will include a bit of suspense to keep my heart rate up all the way to a happily ever after. In Don’t Tempt Me, Ms. Foster even offers up double the happiness by the end of the story – a veritable two for one 😉

There are some romance tropes that just drive me up the wall and back down the other side. Hidden in this tale was a storyline that had me putting this book down once, pondering a “DNF” status for it, but finally picked it back up and enjoyed the story for what it is: good writing and intriguing characters.
