I am not sure how to classify Jennifer Ryan’s books. I read most of her Montana Men series. And now she’s started this spin-off, Montana Heat. Delving into the law […]
I really couldn’t control my all-out sprint from the ending of White Hot, headfirst into starting the last book in the Hidden Legacy trilogy, Wildfire. The writing team of Ilona […]
In the realm of book series, we readers have very little patience. We kick, scream, and throw epic tantrums when the next book in a beloved series doesn’t come out […]
Like your romance a little dirty? Ah, c’mon… I can admit it, I do! Sophie Jordan can write fun historicals but oh, can she write dirty bad boys…
I’ve been looking forward to Archer’s story since Jill Shalvis’ the last full book in the Heartbreaker Bay series.
I’ve just read my first Jill Shalvis book. Where have you been all my life, “Jill Shalvis books”? Oops, there’s one sitting on my bookshelf, unread. Dammit. I […]
I love stories with the soft spoken, hard working, tough guy who is nothing but a gentleman to the ladies. Yep, I like a strong guy 🙂
Being second book in a series is always tough. “Sophomore slump” is what they call it when the second book doesn’t live up to the quality of the first […]
Laura Kaye has ended her Hard Ink series but it is living on, in part, in her new Raven Riders series. And even if you haven’t read any of the Hard Ink books, you will have no problem “fitting in” with this bike club.
I wasn’t sure what to make of this new series by Sophie Jordan. What I mean to say is, guys in prison don’t really do it for me. But it was Sophie Jordan, it was a fresh new series so I took a chance… and I don’t regret it.
Brutal beginning, Ms. Ryan! I remember sitting in some session, some where, and the speaker noted that an author needs to hook a reader in the first chapter or the book has the potential to fail. On that point alone, Ms. Ryan ran away with the Stanley Cup, the Heisman, and the Super Bowl trophy in one fell swoop!
When an author as prolific as Christina Dodd invites you to share in the cover reveals for the re-releases of her hugely popular Governess Brides Series, you listen. Or rather, I listened!
I have a total thing for heroines who are, how do you say? Quirky? But Jennifer Ryan has gone above and beyond and taken quirky and added a brilliant mind, a kind soul, and a horrible upbringing to build one of my favorite characters of the year! “Cowboy” romances are still new to me – I don’t read all that many – so I’m glad I didn’t let this one get by me!
I have been rabidly trying new authors this year. A lot of it has to do with trying new genres. Mostly its due to working at the library and being bombarded with books I would never have known had existed before. For instance, I had no idea that paranormal romance had so many authors writing it! Just a few years ago, I had a hard time finding PNR books. Now they’re as easy to find in a supermarket as a highlander book.
Historical romances and I have a tenuous relationship. For a long time I resisted getting wrapped up in this genre of books. I’ve had less than good luck with them in the past. Last month, I saw Sophie Jordan had a new historical releasing soon. I loved Sophie Jordan’s new adult books, but she’s actually KNOWN for her historicals. Perhaps I should try again…
I have an excerpt from Sophie Jordan’s second book in her The Debutante Files, All the Ways to Ruin a Rogue to share with you today. This historical romance just came out this week Tuesday but you can get your taste right now!
