It is HARD to find a good mystery in the young adult genre. Recently, more of these types of stories have made their way to the young adult book shelves. […]

Bear with me a moment…. A few weeks ago I went back to my hometown to visit my parents. As I drove to my childhood home, I couldn’t help […]
Before I begin, can I just say that I love that the main character’s name is “Jill”?! What a completely normal, everyday name!! I have total love for that.
“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event hosted at Breaking the Spine. We share those books we can’t wait to get our hands on!
This completely appropriate-for-the-YA-crowd story is about what happens when everything you’ve been taught to believe is complete and utter nonsense, just to get you to comply for the greater good.
Well, I went and did it again. As soon as I was done reading Firstlife, I ran to Goodreads to see how many of my friends had read it and what they had thought about.
I absolutely LOVED this ghost story!!! I don’t think I’ve ever read a better one 🙂 I will disclaim that statement with the fact that I haven’t read all that many ghost stories. My experience is mostly urban fantasy stories with ghosts as side characters and not really a huge part of the plot.
Here lies another author that I’ve wanted to read for a long time. Cara Lynn Shultz is known for her Spellbound series. It’s a well reviewed young adult paranormal series and one that I’ve wanted to read but, yeah… have never gotten around to (story of my life). So as soon as I saw that she had a new series coming out I jumped all over it.
While I absolutely LOVED the plot, the world Ms. Kagawa has imagined for her vampires and human survivors, and the HEA ending to this series/trilogy, it was the wordy, slow start to the book that held me back from giving it a five star review. But trust me when I say that once the blood starting hitting the walls, I was ALL IN!!!!
White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout is out today and I say RUN and grab it if you love urban fantasy, YA, romance, gargoyles, and demons sprinkled with some zombie-like wraiths…
Ms. Carter is back and she’s back with a HUGE win with Pawn. I really enjoyed her Goddess Test series but this series is so unrelated, so different, it’s almost as if another author wrote this book. But it’s Ms. Carter’s talented writing style that I immediately recognize in the action sequence that starts from page one and never stops until the very end.
Oh, Isaiah, I had no idea. You kind of annoyed me along the way to your book. But I had no idea that you were this really great guy deep down inside. I truly think Ms. McGarry saved the best for “last”!
I think I could wait on Jennifer Armentrout forever… she writes so darn much!!! Check just one of the new series she’s got coming up…
I am so glad I continued with this series. I was completely unimpressed with the first book in the series, The Immortal Rules and said as much in my review (HERE). But like any “mostly normal” human on this earth, I needed closure. Didn’t really get that but boy did I get an awesome ride to the crazy end! Yep, I must have the next book like, NOW!
This final book in the Goddess Test trilogy utterly shredded me. After the huge dangle-me-off-the-bridge ending of Goddess Interrupted, I was ready for some happiness to fall Kate’s way. Kate’s happily-ever-after is a long fought battle but so worth every word to the very end. SPOILER WARNING: If you haven’t read any of the previous books, my review has spoilers for those books!!!
WHY THE *#@! AREN’T YOU READING THIS SERIES YET?!?!?! Do I need to come over there and kick you in the tookus? C’mon, tell me! By the way, who are Noah and Echo?
Wicked Kiss is the second and LAST book in Michelle Rowen’s Nightwatchers series. I had no clue! I really enjoyed this exciting “wrap-up” to Sam and Bishop’s HEA 🙂
