I just read a super hyped-up book and it lived up to all the hype!! Who would have guessed?!?!
Charley is snarky, witty, hilarious, and downright tenacious when it comes to righting the wrongs she sees in the world. This is one series that if you haven’t started reading it, YOU NEED TO START!!!
I think this is the very first book I’ve read that’s been translated from it’s original language. I’m not quite sure what to make of it or how to […]
I have been wanting to read a book by Amanda Hocking ever since she hit the “scene” with her huge hit Switched, about trolls. Of course I own it, along […]
You ever look for something so hard, say for instance your eye glasses, and you look… and you look… and you look, only to suddenly find them shoved up on your head? A lot of times, that’s what love is like.
How did you learn about “love”? I’m talking romantic love. Not the family, you got to love ’em kind of “love”. Most people learn from watching the people around them. You learn what kind of love you want…
If I was asked after BEA 2016 to pick the one book I received that I was most intrigued about and excited to read, I would have answered Sarah […]
It’s time for the tenth book in the Charley Davidson series! And believe it or not, it’s getting harder and harder to review Ms. Jones’ books.
Realistic and an impossibly horrible situation – that’s what drew me to this young adult contemporary story of hope and a bit of romance.
I don’t think I’ve read a story plot this deep or thought provoking as this one in a long, long time. My brain muscles are still un-cramping from all the thinking and flat out speed reading I’ve done in the last two days. This is just one of those stories that doesn’t have a good place to stop, regroup, and circle your thoughts back around.
What happens when the most uptight, over-achieving, driven student in the senior class ends up getting drunk as a skunk and wakes up next to the school’s most notorious playboy? A whole lot of character growth, sprinked with sweet, tender family moments that make this contemporary romance an easy winner for a summer time quick read.
Why the heck don’t I read more books by Kylie Scott. Seriously? I mean, she’s absolutely brilliant in the snark and witty banter department. I thought it was a fluke of the first book I read by her, Play. Turns out, not a fluke…
Nightstruck is one of those perfect urban fantasy stories that will find an audience with teens. With a straight forward, easy to follow storyline and world building, it’s a quick read. I read this almost in one night! I tore through this story so fast that when I got to the ending…
I can’t believe I waited this long to read a book by Seanan McGuire! I’m a freaking idiot. I own Rosemary and Rue, I just haven’t gotten to it. And nope, I haven’t read anything under her Mira Grant incarnation, either. Told you, I’m am a nitwit.
I’ve said it before… do I really need to say it again? Yeah, probably. I love anthologies. I love them for their quick stories. In and out, nobody gets hurt. I love to try out new authors, too.
I admit it. I was a tad leery going into book number nine of the Charley Davidson series. We had a huge turn of events at the end of Eighth […]
One of the best young adult books I’ve read since…
Do you need something to read over the holidays? Desperate for a book for the Ho-Ho-Ho Read-a-Thon? If you enjoy innocent (wink) young adult romance that tickles new adult, you will love this holiday themed anthology.
This book is straight up young adult romance with the typical side of light teenage angst. I devoured this in one day; it’s a quick, easy read! And I really believe this book is a great addition to any teen library collection for its positive messages.
I’ve always wanted to read a novel by Lora Leigh. Ever since I started working at the library, I would be shelving the paperbacks and the sheer amount of Lora Leigh books would astound me (and pretty much get in my way). Why had I never heard of her before? She wrote paranormal romance for goodness sake! The sheer volume of books in her multiple series had me a bit intimidated, though.
I’m slowly getting caught up on all the fabulous books I read while my blog was down. Even though these are quick reviews, it’s my chance to make sure you notice these books for those times when you’re standing in front of the stacks at the library and you have no clue what you want to read. OR, better yet, put them on your Amazon wishlist and watch out for those price drops!
Some of the books I get to review have expiration dates. It’s hard for me to keep track of but I try my darnedest. Joyride was a book I was originally mediocre about but I saw it was going to expire in two days so I started reading it.
The review where I lost my mind somewhere along the way…
“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event hosted at Breaking the Spine. We share those books we can’t wait to get our hands on!
