I really couldn’t control my all-out sprint from the ending of White Hot, headfirst into starting the last book in the Hidden Legacy trilogy, Wildfire. The writing team of Ilona […]
In the realm of book series, we readers have very little patience. We kick, scream, and throw epic tantrums when the next book in a beloved series doesn’t come out […]
Don’t shoot me but I haven’t read the final book in The Hollows series. I blame it on two things. The first is I have an irrational fear of reading […]
It’s The Others time! Back to Lakeside Courtyard and all the wonderful inhabitants that call it home. This is a series that every person who calls themselves a fan […]
I have been wanting to read a book by Amanda Hocking ever since she hit the “scene” with her huge hit Switched, about trolls. Of course I own it, along […]
If I was asked after BEA 2016 to pick the one book I received that I was most intrigued about and excited to read, I would have answered Sarah […]
I think I’m batting about 50% this month on books I’m reading. I’ve had a few lately that I’ve wanted to DNF but I managed to stick it out and finish them. Unfortunately, this particular book was one that actually made me more mad by the end.
Young adult urban fantasy is hard to find. GOOD young adult urban fantasy is even harder find. Forget about finding GOOD, DARK, INVENTIVE, and SMART urban fantasy in the young adult section… until Schwab’s This Savage Song.
In the mood for a new urban fantasy series that has a “world” that’s easy to get into? Have I got a story for you… Struck by Amanda Carlson […]
Nightstruck is one of those perfect urban fantasy stories that will find an audience with teens. With a straight forward, easy to follow storyline and world building, it’s a quick read. I read this almost in one night! I tore through this story so fast that when I got to the ending…
I can’t believe I waited this long to read a book by Seanan McGuire! I’m a freaking idiot. I own Rosemary and Rue, I just haven’t gotten to it. And nope, I haven’t read anything under her Mira Grant incarnation, either. Told you, I’m am a nitwit.
I’m going to try very hard to keep this review spoiler-free but suffice it to say, it’s going to be hard! If you haven’t started this series yet, you’re a loser like I’ve been. There’s a program for that and it’s called peer pressure – START READING THIS SERIES NOW!
If you’ve been living under a rock, you may have missed the fact that everyone is loving all over The Others series by Anne Bishop. I finally made it a priority to find out what all the fuss is about.
Mechanical horses… with feelings?? You betcha! Best friends together forever? Yup. Detroit front and center? So awesome… Do I really need to write a review? Oh, alright…
Unhooked feels like the little story that could.
What an odd, quirky story this turned out to be. Not at all what I thought it would be going into it. I loved the humor but turns out there’s a bit of a mystery here, too.
Today is a huge day for Weird Girls fans! I’m happy to take part in celebrating release day for Taran’s first book! If you haven’t started reading this fantastic urban […]
If I was having any problems getting back into the swing of loving urban fantasy novels again, I’m definitely NOT anymore. Holy female kick-butt warriors, Batman! Do I ever love Keri Arthur’s new Outcast series or what?
That was kind of awesome… I just kind of fell in love with reading this story. It’s been a while since I’ve read a book that I wanted to keep running back to pick up and get lost in. Yep, I kind of forgot I had a family for a bit there.
The review where I lost my mind somewhere along the way…
Before I started writing my review, I quickly scanned the other Goodreads reviews to see why some of the reviewers were giving this book low marks. I quickly realized that a lot of the reviewers hadn’t read the previous books in the series. I’ll admit, I didn’t either. But I really enjoyed this dark, ominous, game changer book in the Shadow Shifters series. And having only read the one book, I could tell that this series was not for the faint of heart when it came to the romance and action. Roses and candlelight are not a part of these kitties’ repertoires.
I feel like I need to apologize to someone. The conclusion (sort of) of Celia’s story came out while my blog was down so I didn’t get a chance […]
I absolutely LOVED this ghost story!!! I don’t think I’ve ever read a better one 🙂 I will disclaim that statement with the fact that I haven’t read all that many ghost stories. My experience is mostly urban fantasy stories with ghosts as side characters and not really a huge part of the plot.
For a while now I have been distracted by straight up romances and anything of the young adult variety. I was missing my roots, where I started. So I began looking for new urban fantasy titles and “Trailer Park Fae” caught my eye for several reasons.
